What information should be on your business card

A standard business card is 90 x 55mm. There is a finite amount of information you can fit onto a 90 x 55mm space before it appears cluttered, and there’s nothing more off putting to a potential client than a cluttered business card.  Here is what information should be on your business card:

1. Logo

A logo makes your business card stand out and your brand immediately recognisable. Try letting your logo breath by placing it on the opposite side of your contact details.

2. Tagline or a brief list of services

If someone picks up your business card having never heard of you or your business, they should be able to get a rough idea of what it is that you offer.

You can accomplish this either with a tagline beneath your logo (e.g. “Print & Design”) or by including a brief list of services.

3. Contact details

At a bare minimum, you must include at least a phone number and an email address. Ideally, your business card should include:

  • both work and mobile phone numbers
  • a postal address
  • an email address, and
  • a web address.

4. Social media

Social media is recommended, but there are some rules to follow. Try to stick to the ones you use the most (preferably up to 4) and only if you are active. No social media is a better look than inactive social media!
